Printing green?

To IPM printing, quality and industrial production are also synonymous with respect for the environment. We put a lot of effort in ensuring responsible management throughout the production chain for clients who are increasingly sensitive to environmental matters.

THREE MAJOR THEMES DEFINE THIS APPROACH:

1. PAPER

  • Less paper waste: With state-of-the-art software, optimisation of imposition depending on our machine formats and papers.
  • With our FSC and PEFC certifications, we are able to provide our clients with a full range of papers sourced in forests managed sustainably and ecologically.
This implies, on the one hand, respect for fauna and flora in these forests and, on the other hand, job incentives and the rights of local populations.                                         FSC and PEFC papers have the same technical properties as their equivalents without certification, i.e., similar touch and visual aspect, colour rendering identical to traditional papers. The only true difference lies in the strict monitoring of respect for the environment to which they are subjected in all stages of their transformation. That is why, all companies that contribute to their production and their delivery (from paper-makers to printers through wholesalers) volunteer to adhere to the strict control chain that allows to trace the origin of the wood.IPM printing has opted for the double certification in order to provide its clients with a full range of FSC and PEFC papers.
  • Production, at the client’s request, of documents on recycled or partially recycled paper.

2. PRINTING

  • Suppression of alcohol in our printing processes: fewer inhalation and atmospheric contamination risks. Decrease in ink consumption of 10 to 15% and less paper waste.
  • Reverse osmosis water supply system: allows for water that constantly matches our machines’ technical requirements resulting in alcohol-free printing.
  • We only use vegetable inks, which do not contain heavy metals.
  • Centralised ink supply system, which allows to eliminate waste created by ink boxes through the implementation of reusable containers that centrally distribute the ink to the various machines, but also through the more efficient use of ink and therefore a reduction in the volume of ink consumed.

3. RECYCLING

  • Recycling of machine cleaning products.
  • The method used for wrapping is fully recyclable.
  • Management of paper, box, plastic and aluminium printing plate waste, which is entrusted to official companies for sorting and recycling purposes.
  • The floor in the ink storage rooms is provided with a double safety system preventing any risk of infiltration into the ground.

It is possible!
